What Remodeling Costs in Summit County

Everyone wants a number. The honest answer is that cost depends on your specific project, which is why the estimate comes after we see the space. Here is what drives it.

Get Your Number

The only accurate price is the one written for your project

A range on a website cannot account for your layout, your access, your finishes, or what is behind the walls. A walkthrough can. Send the details and we will schedule one.

You get a written scope and price before anything starts, and nothing on that estimate is a placeholder we adjust later.

  • A site visit at no cost, with no obligation to move forward.
  • Line-item scope, so you can see what each part of the project carries.
  • Honest notes on where you can save and where cutting cost will cost you later.
  • Material and finish selections priced before the work is scheduled.

Why we estimate instead of publishing prices

A kitchen remodel can mean a cosmetic refresh or a full reconfiguration that moves walls and systems, and those are very different projects with very different costs. Publishing a single price would mislead more than it would help. We would rather give you an accurate number for your actual project than a tempting figure that does not hold up.

For context, the industry tracks remodeling returns through the annual Cost versus Value Report. In the 2025 report, a midrange minor kitchen remodel in the Mountain region recouped about 110 percent of its cost at resale, while a midrange bath remodel recouped closer to 69 percent. Larger, high-end remodels return less at resale but deliver more in daily use. Renovating to sell and renovating to stay point to different places to put the money, and we are glad to talk that through.

Cost Factors

What shapes the cost of your project

These are the factors that move a remodeling estimate up or down. Your project will land where these add up for your space and goals.

  • Scope of the project. Refreshing finishes within the existing layout costs less than moving walls, plumbing, and electrical. Scope is the single biggest driver.
  • Material and finish level. Cabinetry grade, countertop material, tile, and fixtures range widely in price, and your selections shape the total.
  • Size of the space. A larger room or whole-home project naturally involves more material and labor than a single small space.
  • Condition of the property. Older homes can hide issues behind walls, and addressing aging systems or damage adds to the work.
  • Mountain logistics. Material transport to the high country, a shorter building season, and tighter trade labor push mountain costs above Front Range pricing.
  • Code requirements. Updated Colorado energy codes can add electrical scope, and permitting and approvals vary by town.
  • Access and timing. Winter access, HOA scheduling windows, and coordinating around a rental calendar can affect the plan and the price.
  • Approval timelines. Design review, historic district review, and association approval add weeks before a permit is issued, and a schedule built around them costs less than one that collides with them.

What you get with our estimate

Our estimates are free and carry no obligation. We walk the property, talk through what you want, and put a clear written scope and price in front of you before any work starts. You will know what is included, what it costs, and what to expect on timeline, so you can make a decision with full information.

If the first number is more than you hoped, we will help you find ways to adjust the scope or selections to fit your budget. The goal is a project that works for you, not a hard sell. When you are ready, request a free estimate.

Answers

Common questions about remodeling cost

Why do you not list prices on your website?

Remodeling costs vary too much by scope, materials, and property condition for a published number to be meaningful or honest. A figure that looks helpful online often sets the wrong expectation. Instead, we give you a clear written estimate after seeing the space, so the number reflects your actual project.

Is the estimate free?

Yes. We provide free, no-obligation estimates. We will assess the project, talk through your goals, and put a clear scope and price in writing before any work begins.

Why are mountain remodels more expensive than Front Range projects?

Several factors. Materials cost more to transport up here, the building season is shorter, skilled trade labor is in tighter supply, and updated energy codes can add scope. The same project in the mountains typically runs above what it would on the Front Range.

How can I keep my remodel budget down?

Keeping the existing layout, which avoids moving plumbing and electrical, is usually the biggest saver. Choosing durable mid-range materials over premium ones and grouping work together also helps. We are happy to talk through where to invest and where to save during your estimate.

Do you offer a written estimate I can review?

Yes. You get a clear written scope and price to review before committing. We want you to understand exactly what is included so there are no surprises.

What happens if you find something unexpected after the work starts?

Older mountain homes hide things behind drywall: undersized wiring, past water damage, framing that was never quite right. When we find one, we price the fix and get your approval in writing before it goes on the schedule. Nothing reaches your invoice that you have not seen first.
